Creating your account

Walkthrough

Make your account

Step 1 of 4

Tap Sign up (top right), enter your email and a password (8+ characters), and tap Create account.
Step 2 of 4

Confirm your email

We send a confirmation link — open it and you land back here, signed in. Nothing arriving? Check spam, verify the address, give it a minute.
Step 3 of 4

Pick a handle

On your profile, set a username — lowercase letters, numbers, dashes, underscores, 3–32 characters. It becomes your public link: /u/your-handle.
Step 4 of 4

Choose your goose

Pick a DFX character avatar (change it any time), then add an optional display name and bio. Tap Save profile — done.

Signing up

  1. Tap Sign up in the top-right corner (it says "Join the gang").
  2. Enter your email and a password (at least 8 characters).
  3. Tap Create account.
  4. We'll send a confirmation email and show you a "Check your email" screen.

The confirmation email

Open the email from us and tap the confirmation link. It brings you back to the site, now signed in.

Didn't get the email?

  • Check your spam / junk folder.
  • Make sure you typed your email address correctly — if not, just sign up again with the right one.
  • Give it a couple of minutes; email can lag.
  • Still nothing? Contact us.

First login

Once confirmed, you're taken to your dashboard. You'll see a short "Finish setting up" checklist — that's your cue to set a username, pick an avatar, and add a bio. See Setting up your profile.

Setting up your profile

Everything here lives on the Profile page. Tap Save profile when you're done.

Choosing a username

Your username is your public handle — it becomes your profile link (goosegangdiscs.com/u/your-handle).

The rules: 3–32 characters, using only lowercase letters, numbers, dashes (-) and underscores (_). No spaces or capital letters.

Why can't I use a username?

A few reasons a handle gets rejected:

  • Wrong format — too short/long, or it has spaces/capitals/symbols. Stick to a–z, 0–9, dashes and underscores, 3–32 characters.
  • Already taken — someone else has it.
  • Reserved — some names are held back (brand names, and the handles of specific DFX figures). If a reserved name is rightfully yours, reach out to us.
  • Blocked word — the profanity filter rejected it. Pick another.

Picking an avatar

Scroll to the avatar picker and tap a DFX character tile. Tap None to go without one. (Some tiles marked "soon" don't have artwork yet.) Your choice saves when you tap Save profile.

Display name and bio

  • Display name (up to 80 characters) — the friendly name shown above your profile and on your photo credits. This can have spaces and capitals.
  • Bio (up to 500 characters) — a short blurb about you and your collecting.

Quick answers

I didn't get my confirmation email — what now?

Check spam first, confirm you used the right address, and wait a few minutes. If it still hasn't arrived, sign up again with the correct email, or contact us.

How do I log in / log out?
  • Log in: tap Log in (top right), enter your email and password, tap Sign in.
  • Log out: open the account menu (your avatar, top right) and choose Sign out.
I forgot my password — how do I reset it?
  1. On the login page, tap Forgot password?
  2. Enter your email and tap Send reset link.
  3. Check your inbox and follow the link to set a new password.

To change a password you already know, open Profile and use the change-password option.

What's the difference between my username and display name?
  • Username is your unique handle and web address — lowercase, no spaces (e.g. marm_o_set). It's how people link to you.
  • Display name is the friendly label shown on your profile and photo credits (e.g. Marm O'Set). It doesn't have to be unique.
How do I make my profile public?

On the Profile page, turn on the Public profile toggle, then Save profile.

When public, other people can see your avatar, display name, bio, your featured photos, and your collection. When private, visitors only see a limited page (your handle and when you joined) — your collection and photos stay hidden from them. (You always see your own everything.)

How do I change my username later?

Edit the username field on your Profile page and save. Heads-up: your old /u/old-handle link will stop working, so update it anywhere you've shared it.

What's a Contributor badge and how do I earn one?

Contributor badges reward members who add photos. They're based purely on how many photos you've uploaded (that are still live):

  • 🪶 Feather — 1+ photos
  • 🥉 Bronze — 10+
  • 🥈 Silver — 50+
  • 🥇 Gold — 200+

Your current badge and progress to the next one show on your dashboard and your public profile. Even anonymous photos count toward your tier.
